Profile

Islington’s CIS was set up in 2000 and provides information on:

Nurseries
Primary school nurseries
Childminders
Out of school childcare and activities
Holiday schemes
Play and youth services including adventure playgrounds
Health services
Council services
Education problems
Training to work with children and young people
Jobs with children and young people
Financial help for families

We also have an online children’s directory at: islington.gov.uk/childrensdirectory which holds a continually updated database of services that can assist families whatever their needs, from finding a school to mental health problems, special needs, support groups and specialists in most fields relating to children and young people.

We provide information

By phone, post, e-mail, at www.islington.gov.uk/cis, face to face at reception, face to face at outreach events in children’s centres, health centres, libraries, schools, community centres
